Sanctions and Export Controls Policy

Version: 1.0

Effective date: 24 July 2026

Last updated: 24 July 2026

This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. hionet supplies Services worldwide only where lawful. UK sanctions and export controls apply to us, and other regimes may apply because of a customer's location, payment provider, game or bot software origin, data centre, end user or transaction.

1. Customer commitments

You confirm, to the best of your knowledge after reasonable checks, that:

  • you are not a person or entity with whom hionet is prohibited from dealing under applicable sanctions;

  • you are not owned or controlled by, or acting for, such a person where the applicable rules prohibit the transaction;

  • you will not make a Service available to a prohibited person or restricted destination contrary to law;

  • you will not use a Service for prohibited military, weapons proliferation, terrorism, surveillance, cyber or other restricted end uses; and

  • information you provide about identity, ownership, location, end user and intended use is accurate.

These commitments do not require disclosure beyond what is lawful and proportionate, but we may be unable to provide a Service without information reasonably necessary for screening or licensing.

2. Screening and verification

We may screen customer and transaction information against applicable UK sanctions lists and relevant payment or supplier restrictions, and request identity, ownership, location, end-use or licence information. Screening may produce false matches; we will seek clarification and human review before adverse action where reasonably possible.

We do not claim that screening covers every law worldwide. Each business customer is responsible for export and sanctions rules applicable to its own users, content, software and destinations.

3. Restricted software, technology and destinations

Software, encryption, technical data, server access and support can be subject to export, re-export, transfer, brokering or end-use controls. You must obtain required authorisations and comply with licence conditions. Do not use routing, false information, intermediaries or technical measures to evade restrictions.

Product-specific territorial or technical restrictions will be disclosed before purchase where known and applicable. We will not impose undisclosed restrictions merely for commercial convenience under the label of sanctions.

4. Holds, refusal, suspension and termination

We may delay activation, hold a payment, restrict access, refuse an order or suspend an affected Service where reasonably necessary to investigate a credible match, comply with law, obtain a licence or follow a binding supplier restriction. Measures will be proportionate and limited where possible.

Where lawful, we will explain the general reason and request information needed to resolve the issue. If a false match is cleared, we will restore or provision the Service and address any payment hold promptly. If performance is prohibited, we may terminate and handle funds as law permits; sanctions may prevent or delay a refund that would otherwise be due.

We may report or freeze assets or information where legally required. Nothing requires us to perform an act prohibited by law.

5. Changes in law

Rules can change during a subscription. If a new restriction makes performance unlawful, we may modify or stop the affected part with as much notice as law permits. If lawful, we will support reasonable data export before termination and provide a pro-rata refund for unused prepaid service unless funds or refunds are legally blocked.

6. Reporting and questions

Report suspected sanctions evasion or ask a question at [email protected]. Include enough information for assessment but do not send unnecessary sensitive data. Concerns are handled under the Privacy Notice and may be referred to competent authorities where required.

Mandatory consumer rights remain effective to the extent their exercise and the requested remedy are lawful. English law applies under the Terms of Service, qualified by mandatory local consumer protections.
